Day Seven

Today was our last day of Kids Games and our numbers continued to rise!! We had 80 kids today! Today the kids were told to bring their friends and their parents were able to come early to watch our closing ceremonies. The media team did an incredible job at putting together a photo montage with a ton of photos of all the groups so that was really cool for the kids and parents to be able to see. Today's compassion project for the kids was to bring trash bags full of needed supplies for the local homeless population through a organization called Homeless Gear. They were able to collect a ton of stuff and Tanner and Hayden were able to help them unload it all into a storage container. These 80 kids will have a tremendous impact on their community! Today after we said our goodbyes we loaded up for the last time and headed back to the hotel.

We ate lunch in our rooms and were able to hang out the rest of the afternoon and got some much needed rest! Tonight we plan on chilling out and packing for our trip back tomorrow! We are going to head to Rocky Mountain National Park (also known as Estes Park) in the morning before we have to head to the airport. We will do a little exploring and boulder climbing and maybe even some souvenir shopping!

Tomorrow we are departing the Denver airport at 3:59 PM. We will tentatively arrive at DFW around 6:49pm . Our flight number is 0138. You may want to keep checking the Frontier website before you leave to make sure we are not delayed.

We love you and we will see you tomorrow!

Day Six!

Today we had pretty much the same stuff go on with Kids Games like the rest of the week. Our numbers keep growing everyday and today we had around 70 kids! Today's lesson was about being chosen by God and how God has a plan for each and everyone of us. The kids memory verse for today was Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. These kids have had memory verses for everyday and they are doing such a good job at memorization!

Today we came back to hotel and were able to relax all afternoon!!! It was definitely well overdue. This week we certainly know that our strength is only coming from the Lord Himself because we would be dead tired and we would have zero energy if it weren't for His supernatural strength!

Tomorrow is our last day at Kids Games and our lesson is all about serving others. All week the kids have had a compassion project for the local homeless population everyday. For example, Tuesday they brought sunscreen, Wednesday they brought underwear and socks, and today they were assigned diapers and wipes. These projects are already teaching them how serve others, but I ask that you pray that these kids really grasp what the Lord wants them to do for others as He has commanded us. I ask that you continue to pray that we would have strength and energy, that we would get along with each other, and that we would have patience and positive attitudes.

Today was so crazy that we really didn't get the opportunity to take pictures, but if you go to the link below you can go view the latest pictures posted by the media team!

We love you and we thank you for your continued prayers!

Day Five

Hey Guys! Today was another amazing day! We again set up for another fun filled day of camp and and had around 60 kids again! Today we taught about Peter, one of Jesus disciples, and how he wasn't perfect and screwed up just like we do. We also told them that Jesus' sacrifice forgives us of those imperfections that we, just like Peter, all have. Today Brandon Boling did the skit, which was a Peter monologue, and the kids really seemed to have understood the concepts and really got into the story. We ended up having around 24 kids accept Christ! It was such a blessing to be able to see and be apart of the most important decisions they will ever make!

From there we headed to the hotel to eat lunch and then we got dressed to go on a hike with the adult life group to Horsetooth Mountain. There we were met by Pastor Alan and a few others from the Pursuit Church who came to hike with us. Most of us went to Horsetooth Rock which was a 5 mile hike up the mountain. We succeeded in reaching the top and being able to marvel at God's beauty! Two of us went to the base of Horsetooth Falls and were able to cool off in the stream at the bottom of a beautiful waterfall!

Needless to say we were all exhausted by the time we got back to the hotel so half of us stayed to eat dinner at the hotel and rest while the other half cleaned up and went to dinner at a place called The Big Burrito. It was delicious! Tomorrow we plan on waking up to prepare for day 4 of 5 for Kids Games. I ask that you would still continue to pray that the Lord would give us patience with the kids and with each other. I also ask that you would pray for our kids in our groups to really open up to us and that God would allow us to fully show them His love!

We love you guys!

Day Four!!

We have has such a good day today! We arrived at Fossil Creek Park this morning at 7 o'clock and began our setup. It went much faster this morning since we actually knew what to expect. We ended up having more kids sign up today and our total was somewhere over 60! The buzz about Kids Games is quickly spreading around Fort Collins and yesterday the church had multiple signups and phone calls! Today our lesson was on Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedengo. The high schoolers all participated in the skit, which went exceptionally well, and the kids really enjoyed seeing their leaders participate! Today went much smoother than yesterday because we are beginning to find our groove and we are having a great time hanging out with and building relationships with these kiddos!

After lunch we had a relatively relaxed afternoon and we were able to hang out at the hotel and rest. At 6 we decided to go eat in Oldtown and found a restaurant called Austin's Cafe and Grill were we were able to sit on the patio and enjoy the amazing weather! Not to mention that the food was delicious! After dinner we headed to the store to pick up some things for tomorrow and then we headed to the hotel where we had our nightly devotional and meeting and are now getting ready to go to bed and wake up to do it all over again!

There are a couple of things that you guys can pray for us about. The first is for patience. We are all being tested in that area especially with a choice few in each of our groups so prayer over that would be awesome. Also tomorrow we are presenting the Gospel so I ask that you pray for the Lord's guidance for us leaders and that He would open these kids hearts to respond to His calling.

Day Three

This morning we woke up super early and headed to Fossil Creek Park to begin the set up for Kids Games! When we arrived we got all the tents, signs, flags, nets, balls, etc all set up and ready to go! The kids arrived shortly thereafter and the fun began! We ended up having a lot of walk up registrations which put our kid count over 50! What an incredible number for the first day! Today we taught the kids about how God accepts us just the way we are and even Jesus ate lunch with Matthew the despised tax collector. He of course eventually became one of His disciples! Today we were able to get to know our kids and start building relationships with the kids that will be with all week. It was very tiring and at some times chaotic, but we finished our first day out strong!

After, we headed to our hotel to eat lunch and clean up and then met with the adult life group before dinner to finalize tomorrow's plans. From there we headed to a super delicious pizza place called BeauJo's an d then we did a little bit of souvenir shopping and ended our outing with some ice cream at a little shop called Walrus Ice Cream.

We are extremely exhausted tonight and hope to get some much needed rest to go back tomorrow and do it all over again! I ask that you pray that we would have strength, energy, and positive attitudes.

Also the church has a special page set up that has a ton of info and pictures and from the camp today that were done by the media team and they will be posting them daily! To check it out go to http://www.mypursuitchurch.com/askg-news

Day Two

Hello again! We have had an exciting jam packed day! This morning we woke up ate some breakfast and then headed to The Pursuit Church! They meet at a school and set up every week in their gym. I can't imagine the dedication that it would take to come early every week and set everything up for service and then have to stay late and tear down! It really shows that they are so passionate to share Christ with this community! We were told that church attendance has tripled from last year!

From there we quickly made lunch and made our way to Rocky Mountain Adventures to begin our Whitewater Rafting experience! After going through all the procedures and lessons on how to raft we ended up splitting into 2 groups of seven and had 2 boats. We took a 10 minute bus ride to Cache Le Poudre River. When we arrived we found our boat guides and loaded the boats. We ended up doing two 3 mile runs and had a blast! We were able to have a great time and really bond as a team!

After we got back we freshened up and went and grabbed a quick bite to eat and then headed to the Adult Life Groups hotel were we made final preparations for Kids Games tomorrow! We are all super excited to get there and meet these kids and I ask you to pray that we would have patience and a renewed strength to be able to give our full attention to these kids!

We appreciate your continued prayer and we love you! P.S. We purchased pictures of Whitewater rafting groups and we will try to make copies when we get home!

Day One!!!

Hi Friends and Family! It is currently 70 humidity free degrees here in Ft. Collins! After you left us at the airport this morning we have not stopped going! After a delay at the airport we made it safely to Denver, CO around noon. After getting our car rentals we ate lunch and made the 1 hour drive to Ft. Collins! We made it about 3ish to our really nice hotel and relaxed and played games for about an hour and then we moved on to the store to buy our food for lunches all week and then headed to dinner! We ended up eating at a place called Smash Burgers where we ate some really good burgers and then we headed to the park to see where we would be working for the week. It is super spacious and I think that it will work out perfectly for Kids Games this week!

Tomorrow morning we plan on heading out to service at The Pursuit Church. After we will go White Water Rafting, which should be a blast! I ask that you continue to pray for our team that we would mesh well together and work together to serve this community. I also ask that you continue to pray that the Lord would begin softening the hearts of the kiddos that we will get to work with and that God will use us to further His name.

Below are some pictures from today
